Due to inclement weather, our previously scheduled Community Tree Planting Day was regrettably postponed. However, we're delighted to announce a new date for this event:
Saturday, March 16th, 2024, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
We invite all residents to join us at Diamond Jubilee Park with a spade in hand, ready to contribute to the enhancement of our local environment.
This year, we're proud to participate in Trees for Climate, a nationwide initiative dedicated to woodland creation. Collaborating with Swindon Borough Council, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, and Southern Forestry, we're committed to planting 1453 trees across three designated sites within our parish. These trees, including native UK species and Heritage fruit trees, will enrich biodiversity and combat climate change.
Volunteering opportunities are available for individuals, businesses, and community groups interested in making a positive impact. For more information or to register your interest, please email us at enquiries@standrews-pc.gov.uk.
Let's unite as a community to create a greener, healthier future for all. For additional details on the Trees for Climate initiative, visit https://englandscommunityforests.org.uk/trees-for-climate.
